What is Junior Academy?

Skate Regina’s Junior Academy is a group program that teaches introductory figure skating skills to young skaters who show potential to excel in competitive figure skating.

Entrance to our Junior Academy program is by invitation only and skaters must register for 2 sessions per week.  Skaters will be talented identified and selected from our CanSkate sessions.

We also encourage supplementing private or semi-private lessons in addition to the Junior Academy group classes.  Skaters who want to skate only once per week or cannot skate on the days that Junior Academy is scheduled, should register for the Jr Prep program.  Skaters must wear figure skates and helmets are required until the skater has official passed Stage 5 of the CanSkate program.

Any questions regarding proper equipment, class requirements, or inquiries can be emailed to skateregina@myaccess.ca

What is StarSkate?

StarSkate is the first step into figure skating once a skater has completed CanSkate.  Skaters are required to find a private lesson coach when skating on StarSkate ice.  If you need to find a coach, click HERE to access the list of Skate Regina Coaches.  You will need to personally contact the coach of your choice to arrange lessons at a time that works for both the skater and the coach.

Once skaters have completed CanSkate, they will no longer receive report cards but will instead do formal Skate Canada tests when ready at the discretion of their coach.

Skate Canada has recently implemented the new STAR 1 - GOLD Content for our skaters and coaches.
